Dear Bostrom Family,
I first met your father at Reese Park. He helped with the ice rink. He also helped with the shed and with putting on skates if needed. Through the years that followed I would see him often at Steele School and MHS. He always took the time to talk with me. What a wonderful man. I will never forget him.##imported-begin##Cindie Burr##imported-end##

To Ron's entire family-I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathies in this deep loss. I was shocked to read of Ron's passing. I met and got to know Ron at all of the many, many family picnics at the FOP lodge. Ron always had such a great sense of humor and made everything so much fun! I always remember all of the kids ganging up on him to try and trick him and pull "fast ones" on him because he was so good natured. And I'll never forget those silver dollars he handed out for the kids prizes at the picnic games. Heaven has definitely gained a wonderful man! Much love and prayers, Tami(daughter of retired police officer-Ron Tufts)##imported-begin##Tami Tufts##imported-end##
Barb, Bill, & Rondi- We are so sorry to hear of dad's passing. He was loved and respected by everyone that ever met him. I feel I've known him my entire life, with Barb and Ruth friends and also he was present at every school function at every school I had attended, from Oakview thru Muskegon High he was always the smiling face that all the children and adults loved to see. Our deepest condolences.##imported-begin##Cindy Holtz & Family##imported-end##
Officer Bostrom you are a officer for the LORD now and you will be greatly missed. Thanks for supporting our community and for being a great asset to our single parents by keeping us in line and taking us home to our moms and dads. Sometimes that could be worse than jail. You know why (smile). Many prayers out to your family. God Bless.##imported-begin##Valerie Clark##imported-end##
Very few people in this world are genuine. As a child in the 70’s, I recall how excited all of us kids at Phillips Elementary School would be when Officer Bostrom would come. We would gather in our little gym to listen to him talk about how to be safe. In the fall, he would bring all different types of Halloween masks (some pretty scary!) to show which ones were safer than others. He would include the students in his presentations, always making us giggle. We were riveted as he told his stories! I’m sure that many kids took his teachings to heart as they were trick-or treating, remembering what he told us.
As a little girl, I remember what a great role model he was. He always had time to stop and talk. Where I grew up, most of the kids didn’t have a whole lot. Most families lived paycheck to paycheck. Officer Bostrom always made the children in our neighborhood feel like we were the special ones! You always knew where you stood with him – he was kind and patient but was firm and steadfast when he needed to be.
Every once in a while when I was in Steele Junior High or Muskegon High School, I would see him walking down the hall. I always made sure that I would say “Hi, Officer Bostrom!!!!” I’m sure he never tired of that even though he probably heard that at least 100 times a day!
Being proud alumni, my sister (Class of ’86) and I (Class of ’88) attend as many Big Red football games as we possibly can. Last Friday they announced that Officer Bostrom had passed away. How deeply saddened I was to hear that. He was such a wonderful human being – he impressed such a great positive image to so many children in Muskegon! I will never forget that, and I hope that his spirit will live on with other officers that are involved with the area children.##imported-begin##Annette (Foster) Messenger##imported-end##
