Ronald W. Bostrom's Obituary
Mr. Ronald W. Bostrom “Officer Bostrom”, age 74, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 26, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born May 5, 1933 to Helge and Frances (Kohanski) Bostrom, Sr. in Muskegon and was a life resident. Ron was always very involved in the Muskegon community. He was a police officer for the City of Muskegon for 33 years before retiring, and then worked with the Muskegon Public Schools as a truant officer for 7 years, and a security officer for the schools for several years after that. He promoted safety for hundreds of children and students in the Muskegon area during his career, and was an avid Muskegon Big Reds fan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and member of the F.O.P. Lodge #99, the Muskegon Eagles #668, the Pulaski Lodge, the Polish Union, and the Polish Falcons. On February 1, 1957 Ron married Carol A. Hommes. She preceded him in death on February 13, 1996. SURVIVORS include 3 children, William (Lori) Bostrom, Barb (Michael) Woudwyk, Rondi (Kyle) Buris, all of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Megan and Hannah Bostrom, Niki and Matt Woudwyk, Justin, Andrew, and Lauren Buris; 1 sister; and his beloved dog and buddy, Jerry Lee. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. VISITATION at
