Russ is my dad Larry’s oldest brother. He will be greatly missed by our family. Their weekly FaceTiming over these last couple of months soothed both their hearts. Serving in the Korean War together was some of my dads fondest memories of his brother. My dad told me the other day that he really looked up to Russ and was proud to be his brother. I admired that he was such family man and how important it was to him that our families stayed close.

Cousins , I love you and promise to stay close and carry on Uncle Russ in my heart as we keep our family together.

To Russ Family,
I am so sorry to hear about his loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Russ and having him for many, many, years in our exercise classes at the Heart Center. He was such a pleasure to have in class, great conversations with him and the friends he made here in class. Russ was always up for meeting the new people and striking up conversation with them, making them feel at home. He enjoyed sharing special times in his life and talked about his family, he was so proud of them. I think sometime he did more talking than exercise. His wife occupied him to class often sitting and reading and while Russ worked out. When his children were in town I had the pleasure of meeting them cause they always occupied him to class. All his children were so good to him and truly loved there dad. He will be missed by all of us at rehab. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family.

To The Reckell family you had amazing parents. When they visited Mom and Dad (Bill and Betty Evans) they would speak kindly of all their children. They were very proud of each of you. My Dad thought of your Dad as a brother. They sure had some wonderful memories. I like to think your parents and my parents are up in Heaven having a great reunion. May your faith give you comfort in the days ahead.

I am a friend of the family. Back in the 80's I was going to help take care of their property while they were out of town. Russ was showing me how to use the Kubota and where other pieces of equipment were located and we decided to rake leaves ... Had to put a tarp out because they had a gazillion leaves and we started to rake ...well of course the raking made us sneeze and Russ's artificial eye popped out into the pile of leaves...were were laughing ourselves silly digging through the leaves looking for his eyeball...such a good man... He cosigned my first auto loan... I didnt realize at 20 what a big risk that was but he did it and it got me started financially in Arizona...Thank you Russ...you're in a much better place...you're gone but will never be forgotten....see you again and maybe we'll look for your eye together in a cloud👀😁
