Ruth S. Alexander's Obituary
Ruth Susan Alexander, age 75, passed away at Transitional Health Services of Fremont, MI on Sunday, May 29, 2016. She was born September 27, 1940 in Muskegon to Chester and Susan (Bolema) Lobdell and had resided most of her life in the Muskegon area. On June 6, 1959 she married Milton L. Alexander in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2001. Ruth enjoyed playing BINGO, coloring, and was a connoisseur of pizza. She was also known locally as the “bicycle woman”, riding her bicycle many miles daily. But most importantly, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. SURVIVORS include 3 sons: Les Alexander of Southern Redlands, California, Larry Alexander of Muskegon, Mark (Cyndi) Alexander of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 sisters: Rose Greenwood of Muskegon, Melinda (Larry) Malott of Deerfield, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Lobdell and sister, Darlene Loper. SERVICES for Ruth will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with her grandson the Rev. Fr. Allen Alexander officiating. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service Thursday morning.
