Sally J. Gillard's Obituary
Sally Jean Gillard, 65, left her earthly home in a “Run to Jesus” early Tuesday, April 03, 2012. Born June 14, 1946 in Muskegon to Jack and Ardyce (Wood) Valentine, she was a life resident of Muskegon. Sally was a member of Unity Reformed Church, and a former member of First Reformed Church. She loved working with kids, and had done so for over 26 years as a paraprofessional at Churchill Elementary School, as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and tutor, as well as volunteering with Mona Shores Choir. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, coloring, crocheting, cooking, baking and gardening. Sally was always concerned about helping others. She was a loving mother and grandmother to Heather Gillard of Norton Shores and Brandon (Mary Ellen) Gillard of North Muskegon; and seven grandchildren: Blake Filius, Matt and Melodie Weaver; Kyle, Kristopher, and Kaylee Herbert; and Allura Gillard. She is also survived by a brother, David (Colleen) Valentine of Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. A CELEBRATION OF SALLY’S LIFE will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Unity Reformed Church, 1521 Porter Rd., with lunch and sharing of memories to follow.
