Samuel T. Lakos' Obituary
Mr. Samuel T. Lakos, age 91, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on July 9, 1919 to Thomas and Aspacia (Staviakos) Lakos and was a life resident of the area. Mr. Lakos was a graduate of Muskegon High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served in WWII. He then went to work for the family business, Lakos Steakhouse, where he was owner and managing partner until it closed in 1982. Mr. Lakos was a member of the Elks for over 50 years and was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was an avid golfer and loved watching sporting events on TV. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, which he taught to his children and grandchildren. Most importantly, Sam loved his family and his wife, and was devoted to them. On November 7, 1953, he married his wife of 57 years, the former Dorothy M. Nic, and she survives him along with 4 children, Deborah (James) Vanderweele of Grand Haven, Catherine (Anthony) Green of Randallstown, MD, Thomas (Becky) Lakos of Muskegon and George (Dee) Lakos of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his sister, Catherine (Peter) Pulos and his sister-in-law, Marina Lakos. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Tony, Charles and George Lakos. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Catalin Mot officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8PM Thursday at
