Sandra E. "Sandie" Beyer's Obituary
Mrs. Sandra E. “Sandie” Beyer, age 63, passed away Wednesday evening, January 21, 2004. She was born July 23, 1940 in Muskegon to Morton and Edith (Sjoberg) Johnson and had been a life resident. Mrs. Beyer was currently a member and the music director at St. Mark Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of the Sherwood School of Music in Chicago, member of the American Guild of Organists, the Cecelian Music Club, and former director and accompanist for the Celebration Singers. Mrs. Beyer participated in the Community Connects Choir, and was a beloved piano teacher and mentor. She also ministered at several Muskegon and Grand Haven area churches for many years. On October 8, 1961, she married Walter Beyer in Muskegon and he survives her along with 3 daughters, Tracy (Scott) Cox, Kathie (Joe) Gauthier both of Norton Shores, Jennifer Pickard of Roosevelt Park; 5 grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Eathen, Kadie, Tyler; brother, Wayne (Mary Beth) Johnson of Wisconsin; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark E. Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565.
