Scott D. Gerard's Obituary
Scott David Gerard, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. He was born on April 14, 1975 to Tod and Kathy (Fusko) Gerard in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Scott was well known as someone who was always willing to help out his friends. He was a faithful U of M supporter and avid Star Wars fan and collector. Scott had a great love for animals that started at a young age. He often had many pets at once growing up, which earned his childhood home the nickname “The Gerard Zoo.” Scott loved hanging out with his friends, especially Josh, Zach and John, often taking fishing trips or having a BBQ. They also had many fun trips up north, as John said, “Mt. Pleasant and Mackinac Island will never be the same.” Scott will always be remembered as someone who lived life as a true individualist and will be missed by his parents, Tod and Kathy; sister, Kelly (Steven) Smith and their daughter, Erin Smith; children, Ariana and Ian; aunt, JoAnne VanderWeele; uncle, Lee (Linda) Gerard; six cousins; and close friends, Josh, Zach, and John. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Please feel free to visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
