Shannon J. Thomas' Obituary
Shannon Thomas, 63, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday, January 3, 2015. Born October 9, 1951 in Grand Haven to Virgil and Vivian (Clark) Branyan, she had been a caseworker with the Michigan Department of Human Services prior to her retirement last November. Shannon’s SURVIVORS include a daughter, Jennifer Parker; a son, David Thomas; her hero grandson, Matthias Parker; three sisters: Rebecca (Donald N.) Daniels, Melissa (Thomas) Taylor, and Maureen (Darrell F.) Morritt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nephews and great-nieces. Shannon loved riding her two horses, and was an artist. Family members have her landscapes and other paintings to remember her by. She liked to garden, also, and always kept rescued dogs. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held for Shannon on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5 to 7 P.M., with a TIME OF SHARING MEMORIES at 6 P.M., at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 1547 W.
