Mrs Shirley Ann King's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Ann King, age 68, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2014, at her home. Shirley was born May 21, 1945 in Muskegon to Albert and Edith (Hoffman) Goodman. On July 15, 1961, she married Norman “Bruce” King in Dighton, MI, and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2004. Shirley was a school bus driver for Fruitport Schools for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and trips to the casino with family and friends. Most of all, Shirley loved time spent with her family. She is survived by her son, Kevin King, of Muskegon; 2 daughters, Phyllis (Jerome) King Miller of Kent City, and Karen K. (Thomas) Carr of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Brad King, Brian (Jennifer) King, Tyler Carr, Clara Carr, and Jean Louise “Scout” Miller; 2 great grandchildren, Grace and Jason King; 1 sister, Mary Twining of Muskegon; brothers-in-law, Henry Stapleton and Richard Major; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 sisters, Covita Langworthy, Alline Stapleton and Hazel Major. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100
