Mrs. Shirley A. Norton, age 80, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 23, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born December 27, 1930 to William A. and Edna (Gibson) Nichols in Vincennes, IN, and had lived in the Muskegon Read Obituary
We are so glad to have met aunt Shirley even if for a short time. We loved her humor and to visit with her when she would come over. She was still cracking jokes even at the nursing home:)Her presence will be missed:)

Great Aunt Shirley was an amazing story teller:) She was the person that told me about my grandfather, Robert Nichols, someone that I wasn't able to meet in person but did through her:) I will always treasure the memories and the thoughtfulness when she made the cake for my wedding, what amazing talent she had:) Love Always

I am so sorry to hear of Great Aunt Shirlley's passing. I know I didn't get to meet her that long but I do remember all the times we did have together. She always made me laugh. You will be greatly missed.

I share your sadness at her passing. Shirley was so warm and happy. Her memory for rhymes and funny jokes was amazing. At her best, she had a good word and a smile for everyone. What a sweetie!
May the good Lord rest her soul.
I expected to attend her funeral today, but, many complications have happened and I'm sorry I cannot be there.
I will, however, hold your family up in prayer.

Shirley was a really fun lady, I worked with her at Cole's bakery, and she taught me how to decorate cakes, and I still decorate cakes to this day, and I think of her when ever I put on the fance edging she taught me to do, it was her favorite part of the cake... It hurts mom. I love you so much. I can't even put into words how much I miss you. I can't help but be selfish and want you back but I know you are in a better place and that you are all better now.
