Shirley J. DeBoer's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley DeBoer, age 78, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at her home, after battling Myelodysplastic Sydrome. She was born April 25, 1929 in Muskegon and had resided in the area most of her life. On December 29, 1949 she married J. Robert DeBoer and together owned and operated Simpson Pharmacy and Gift Shoppe from 1958 until 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1994, her parents, Louis & Angie Simpson and by her brother James Simpson. Shirley was a member of Central Assembly of God. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, Michael (Julie) DeBoer of Muskegon and Paula (Thomas A.) Larsen of Whittier, CA; 2 granddaughters, Melanie & Jamie Larsen; 1 brother-in-law, Francis “Fritz” (Eleanor) DeBoer of Muskegon; nieces and nephews, Robert W. (Sharon) DeBoer, Barbara (Kirk) Matusiewicz, Sandra (Jeff) Cahill, Jeri Sue Braun and Rebecca (Fred) Marquardt and by several great-nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 4 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.
6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100)with Dr. Gordon Aikin officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Shirley’s family will be 6-8PM Thursday (this evening). MEMORIAL GIFTS to the Leukemia Foundation or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
