I didnt know Shirley very long, or very well. She collected rent at an apartment for her son, on Washington..... Shirley was at Julie's baby shower and she made us promise to bring the baby to see her. She was so excited to see her, and told us she had dreamt about what Maci would look like. Shirley died on Maci's birthday...they didn't get to meet in person, but Shirley had it right...Maci has the chubby cheeks Shirley saw in her dream. Shirley was a great lady. She had so many good qualities. I know my mom loved her and cherished their friendship. We all loved her. Godspeed, Shirl. We are going to miss you. Shirley and Karl have been wonderful neighbors for over 38 years.We love them as our neighbors.
Our children grew up with her children and
she was a wonderful mother for her children.
Shirley was a very fashionable lady, you would never see her with a hair out of place.

Shirley and Karl helped to create the Village of which books are written in our little neighborhood on South Virginia Drive. I will never forget Shirley's gentle spirit and soft kindness growing up as a kid there. I remember coming home as an adult in college and visiting near the border of our family's yards: my young niece was there and she proudly pulled up the bottom of my t-shirt to show Shirley my fresh naval piercing. Shirley looked down at that and then into my face and said, "did your mom see that yet?" to which I promptly replied: "I'm almost 32! Of course not!" And we laughed. Many fond memories, I have, of Shirley and her family. I pray that Karl and Lynda and Shelly and the boys find strength and comfort in the days and months ahead and am so sorry for your loss. We are so very sorry to hear of Shirley passing away. As soon as we heard she was sick..we asked God to cradle and comort her. And now...we ask God to cradle and comfort you. Shirley commented to us a few times on how much she enjoyed looking out her sliders and seeing the pretty lights on our pine tree at Christmas time. Well..in her honor...those pretty lights will be on for a week! She was a wonderful neighbor and will be missed!!!
