It is with great sorrow I read of Stan's passing. We met some years ago at the Blue Wave Gym. We both then became members of the Family Fitness Program and would meet and exercise three days weekly enjoying laughs and companionship. We enjoyed the same reading materials and Stan would often bring books he had completed to be shared with me. Our conversations covered many topics over the years. He was thoughtful, considerate, and unassuming. He served his country, his community and God.

My condolences to his family. I am proud to have considered him a friend.

My most recent memory of Stan was just last November. We took mom and dad after church on a Sunday to visit with him and Andrea. We had Subway sandwiches for lunch and had a great visit! The last thing Stan and I said to each other was that if we didn't see each other here, we would see each other in heaven!
He was a wonderful Uncle! Loved his laugh! He will truly be missed by family and friends.

I also can hear his laugh! I remember going to your house when you lived on Colfax (?) On new years day to watch the rosebowl game and how Stan and dad got so into the game! Loudly screaming at Bo and Michigan!
He was a great uncle!

My memories of Stan are all tied in with the cottage at West Lake. We spent a number of summers there and Stan and Jim were our uncles who teased us and swam in the Lake with us.
When Stan met Andrea he took her to San Diego where my dad married them in our living room. I was a senior in high school and thought this was a truly romantic wedding!
Later when I was at Calvin College, I spent my spring break with Stan and Andrea in Muskegon. The taught me how to play penney poker and now I was a grown up for sure.
I will always remember Stans laugh. It was unmistakable. I love my uncle and I know I'll see him again in heaven. My grandma must be very happy to have him with her now. Jesus is too.
