Stanley L. Heeres' Obituary
Stanley L. Heeres, age 76, passed away Saturday morning, June 13, 2020. He was born April 12, 1944 in Muskegon to Louis and Johanna (Jipping) Heeres. Stan enlisted in the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home from the war, he attended and graduated from Western Michigan University earning his Bachelor of Science Degree. On March 6, 1971, he married the former Andrea Birdsell in California. He worked for the State of Michigan as a social services quality control auditor for over 35 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church. SURVIVORS include his wife, Andrea; 2 children: Kristen (Kevin) Dethloff and Katheryn (Matthew) Laughlin; 5 grandchildren: Noah, Lauren, and Luke Dethloff, Jackson and Samantha Laughlin; brother, James Heeres; and sister, Barbara (Gordon) Klouw. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Cooper Heeres-Laughlin. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held 2:30 PM Friday, June 19, 2020 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church (973 W. Norton Ave.) with Pastor Mark Milkamp officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
