Steffie Helen Englund's Obituary
Steffie Helen Englund, age 95, passed away Friday afternoon at the Sanctuary at the Shore care facility in Grand Haven following a long illness. This kind and gentle lady was born in Detroit, MI on December 21, 1916 to Martin and Anna (Matuz) Szyler and has resided in Muskegon since the age of two. Mrs. Englund was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. She was and exquisite needlewoman excelling in her knitting, crocheting, sewing and embroidery, which she shared with innumerable family and friends. She was an avid gardener and nature lover. Steffie married Mr. Harold L. Englund, Sr. on May 29, 1937. Harold preceded her in death on January 3, 1997. She is survived by their five children: Elisa Reck of Grand Rapids, Marie (Bill) Lake of Grand Haven, Louise (Charles) Moffett of Groveport, OH, Harold (Mary) Englund, Jr. of West Olive, MI and Darleen (Daniel) Shirey of Mattawan, MI; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rex Reck in 1989, a brother and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at:
