Dad,

My most constant memory of Steve was his unrelenting devotion to the uniform and badge he wore. I first met him when I worked for the District Court and he would appear for some court matter. In every conversation with him, his ever-serious demeanor let you know what he felt for the for the law and for his job to enforce it. When I went to work at EGR Police, I became more aware of his family and what they meant to him. I saw more of the personal side of Steve, but he was ALWAYS a cop, through and through. The fact his sons followed in his footsteps speaks volumes for the man he was. REST IN PEACE
Steve was a warm, caring, and encouraging friend. I picture him baking and telling jokes in heaven :). I will think of him every time I make pizza, and try to replicate his famous pecan sandies! We will miss you Steve.

I worked with Correana and Steve at Dairy Queen. Steve was so much like my grandpa it was crazy. He always stood up for us when we had a particularly nasty customer and would rate how good my chocolate shakes i made him were. He'd speak his mind so frankly you never had to wonder if he liked you or not. I'll miss him more than anyone I've ever known for such a short time.
I can not think of a day that didn't involve you and Mac from my childhood. I absolutely loved being at the house with you guys and Tammy. Its so hard to believe that after all these years he is gone. He was such a wonderful man. And even though we have lost touch not a day goes by that one of those memories doesnt come to my thoughts. Im not sure I will make the service as Im having some spinal injections tomorrow but will try. Thinking of you today and always. Courtney Russell

I used to work for Steve at Dairy Queen. He was like a grandpa to me. Both of my grandpa's had already passed away and being around Steve and how sweet and funny he was made me feel like he was my family. I remember one time he brought his famous banana bread to work, I have never had such amazing banana bread before! It was so good that he let me take it all home.😊 My situation at the time felt hopeless, like it would never get any better, and Steve was able to make me feel like everything was going to be alright. Such a great man with so many stories! I missed him the day I moved away and miss him even more now.

Steve and Correna lived next door to me for a while. GREAT neighbors! Steve was always ready to help me around my place! He and Correna helped me with puppies when I had a litter! We had a standing joke about butter.....and I cannot think of butter without thinking of Steve and his laughter and smiling eyes!!!! They often came and played with Lefty who became theirs. When he went to live with them, I knew what a wonderful home he had! Steve will be missed by many!!!!
I hired Stevens Irish Eyes Protection Agency to come to my dads restaurant in Burton Heights and walk him out at closing. It was comforting to myself and my dad and he really liked Steve and his company. RIP Steven and thanks for comforting my dad. You kept serving even after being a police officer. Tommy Brann
Mac, thanks for being there for us when we were kids you made a difference in our lives. May the Peace of the Lord be with you, Corenna and the entire family. We enjoyed our reunion, and praying with you. There is something very soothing in saying the Lords Prayer with true meaning. We should all take it to heart.
