Jenni and Katie, I had the privilege of teaching in the room next to your grandmother at Craig School. Sue was an outstanding teacher, and as a beginning teacher, I learned so much from observing her. I was always amazed at how you could hear laughter and commotion sometimes as you passed her room, but within minutes the children were listening to her in rapt attention. Sue made learning fun! An example was The Candy Shop--the children wrote recipe books, used measurements to cook, learned money values as they sold to other students.
My memories of Sue are of an intelligent and caring woman. We laughed often, especially as we created some hallway bulletin board extravaganzas. I hope that as you mourn, you find joy in special memories of times with your grandma.
Sue's Catholic belief was a part of who she was. I am not sure where you are in your faith journey, but pray that you will be reunited with your Grandma in Heaven one day. I look forward to hearing her and Ed's laughter.
Blessings, Jane Peterson
