Suzanne V. "Sue" Omness' Obituary
Suzanne V. “Sue” Omness, age 89, passed away Sunday morning, December 3, 2017. She was born February 7, 1928 in Muskegon to Joseph and Cordelia (King) Cardinal. On June 26, 1954, she married Edward L. Omness in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2014. Sue was a teacher for Nims, Nelson, and Bluffton elementary schools for over 30 years prior to retiring in 1983. She was a former member of St. Jeans Catholic Church and a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Pi sorority. Sue was an avid collector of rocks, blown glass, and antiques. SURVIVORS include 2 granddaughters: Jenni (Matthew Erk) Omness of Detroit, Katie Omness of Newaygo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph E. Omness on March 7, 2012 and her sister, Cecelia Littel. Private family services will be held for Sue. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
