Terry Lee Bayne Sr.'s Obituary
Terry Lee Bayne Sr., age 79, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Muskegon Michigan. Terry was born to Harold and Carol Bayne on March 26, 1946, in Muskegon, Michigan. Terry attended Holton High School, where he graduated from in 1965, after which, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served for two years in the Vietnam War. Shortly after his return from service in 1968, Terry married the former Loretta Modrow in Muskegon, Michigan. Terry worked for many years at Sealed Power/Hi-Lift where he retired from in 1997.
Terry was a kind, happy, and friendly person who could strike up a conversation with anyone. He could often be found puttering around his farm in Twin Lake, Michigan where he and Loretta resided, finding projects to work on and things to tinker with. Terry enjoyed driving his 47’ Dodge Pickup to have lunch with his buddies at the legion every afternoon and riding around in his pink Chevrolet Geo Tracker. He appreciated a cold beer and the thrill of a raffle, regardless of the prize. More than anything, Terry loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Terry was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren for their accomplishments in their education and careers.
Terry will be missed by his wife, Loretta Bayne; children, Terry Bayne and Shawn (Jeff) Lieffers; grandchildren, Lillian (Nick) Castenholz and Nick (Lauren) Lieffers; great-grandson, Jackson; special family friends, Mark Lazarock; siblings, Rick (Paula) Gilette, Cheryl (Russ) Shappee, Bonita, and Tom Schmidt; brother-in-law, Les (Coleen) Modrow; special cousins, Gladys Bayne, David (Londa) Bayne and their families. Terry is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marcia Schmidt.
