Theodora Bouyoucos' Obituary
Theodora Bouyoucos, age 88, passed away on March 11, 2023. She was born on April 27, 1934, in Constantinople Turkey, to Michael and Ismini (Panagatos) Mazarakis. Theodora married Spiros Bouyoucos on September 22, 1963, and they resided in Midland, MI for 45 years. In August of 2004, they moved to Fruitport, MI to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
She was an excellent cook. Her enjoyment for cooking also became part of her love to host parties and entertain her family and friends. She liked to travel, especially to her ancestral country of Greece. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had a deep love for her family.
Theodora will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Antonia (Gene) Richards, Ismene (Joe) Bouyoucos-Russell and Sophia (Chad) Bouyoucos-Sayen; grandchildren, Alena Jordan, Zoie and Caleb Russell and Keaten and Kostas Sayen; sister, Catherine Pahis; niece, Maria Pahis; and nephew, Athanasios Pahis. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Spiros.
VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444) with the Trisagion Service at 7:45 PM. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (185 E. Pontaluna Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444) with Father Joseph Gingrich presiding. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed by going to the “Annunciation Muskegon” YouTube channel. The family would like to thank Rest Haven Care Center and Hospice of Holland for their wonderful care of Theodora. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS can be directed to Rest Haven in Holland, MI.
