“ My Uncle Tom”
My Uncle Tom was my father’s older brother,
A man with a heart who cared for others.
My dad said, when Tom was a young man
His clothes were the best of any of them.
The Hill kids were close they had a bond
The love they shared went way beyond.
Tom fought in the war just like his brothers,
All were overseas, which worried their mother.
The brothers all lived and fought a great fight,
Coming back home to their Mother’s delight
He married Hertha, the love of his life,
We couldn’t wait to make her his wife.
Today we pray for Mike, Linda and Ken,
As they adjust to their life without him.
Although he is gone, he lived a great life,
He is resting in peace alongside his wife.
We will all miss him he was such a great man,
But we’ll see him again in God’s promise land.
