Thomas L. Hill's Obituary
Mr. Thomas L. Hill, age 98, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born January 12, 1920 in Shipley, Iowa to John and Etta (Emery) Hill. On December 15, 1945 he married Hertha Weidenfeller and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2015.
Thomas was a member of the Grand Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. Thomas served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Shaw Walker in Muskegon for 31 ½ years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, reading, camping and traveling to Florida.
Thomas is survived by Three children: Linda (Leonard) DeYoung of Three Rivers, Michael (Terry) Hill of South Haven, and Kenneth (Christal) Hill of Nunica; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Amy Hill, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Hill, Jr; brothers and sisters: Oliver Hill, Harlan (Beatrice) Hill, Glen (Kathryn) Hill, Catherine Ingersoll, and Helen Voss;
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Grand Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church (15051 177th St. Grand Haven) with Pastor Sheridan and Pastor Walter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Thomas may be given to ADRA – Adventist Development Relief Agency or Amazing Facts Television Ministry.
