Mr. Thomas Walter Nerheim's Obituary
Mr. Thomas Walter Nerheim, age 67, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 20, 2018. Tom was born March 3, 1951 to Chester W. and Margery May (Gerbers) Nerheim in Ludington, MI. On November 15, 1975 he married the former Kathleen Dorato in Muskegon. Tom owned and operated Ted’s Men’s Wear in Park Row Mall for many years and later worked as an agent for Five Star and Woodland Realty. Most recently, Tom was employed at J.C. Penney. Tom was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of the Elks #274. He enjoyed boating, fishing with his grandson, flying kites on the beach, trips up north to the cottage in Pentwater, and watching the Tigers and Red Wings. Most of all, he loved his trips to Colorado to see his children and grandchildren. Tom will be deeply missed by his children, Tom “TJ” Nerheim Jr. of Loveland, CO and Sarah (Ryan) Groll of Johnstown, CO; 2 grandchildren, Carson and Molly Groll; mother, Margery Nerheim; brother, Steven (Christine) Nerheim of Houston, TX; 2 sisters, Polly (Daniel) Doctor and Kate (Mark) Wiseman all of Norton Shores; dear friend, Susan DeHaan; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father. A CELEBRATION of TOM’S LIFE will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Elk’s Park, 5447 Lake Harbor Rd.
