I first met Tom when I started working at Express Scripts where he was in charge of designing and detailing our pharmacy equipment with his team at Sun Design. I was amazed at not only his intellect, but his quick wit and sense of humor along with his genuine caring about his employees and really everyone he worked with. He quickly became a friend to all of us. Tom was without a doubt the most patient guy I've ever known with everyone he worked with. Always mentoring, always helping. Just brilliant. The guys at Express Scripts always looked forward to his personal deliveries of 2-3 coolers jammed with boxed blueberries from Michigan. Always delicious and delivered with love!

My family was lucky to be able to travel up from St. Louis to visit Tom at his condo back in summer of 2020. The wife and kids really loved meeting Tom after hearing so much about him over the years. They thought he was the sweetest, most polite guy! It was a great stay and will be remembered fondly.

Tom and I kept in touch often after he retired. He was one of those rare individuals you are lucky to call a friend. You could share anything with him without judgement, just caring and friendly advice. I will greatly miss our conversations and we'll all miss his smile, generosity and caring soul. He'll live on in all of our memories and the stories we'll tell.

It is with a heavy heart to hear this news. Tom has been a significant influence in my adult life. He hired me at Sun Design back in 1983 which brought my wife and I to Grand Haven. Tom's generosity, commitment to excellence and creativity are just a few traits that have caused me to admire him as I worked for and with him. In the past few years, I would often drive by the city beach beach looking for his car to pull up along side, so we could catch up. Yes, he would often have his paper out reading. I was honored to have worked for him until 2007, at which point he sold Sun Design to me. I was able to continue to work with him in his new adventure until his retirement. He was a teacher to many in business, engineering, design, and life for those that wanted to learn. For that, I am very grateful. My heart felt condolences to each of his family.

I first met Tom when i interviewed for a job at Sun Design in 1984. I do remember that he was wearing a Detroit Tigers t-shirt that day when he gave a 17 yr. old kid a start at a career in mechanical design and engineering. For 20 plus years we worked together & shared laughs together, then he went on to work for Express Scripts. After that, we would still run into each other around GH or working out at the YMCA. He would always greet me with a smile and ask how my family was doing. Tom had a great impact on my life, i will always have fond memories of him & Sherrian.

RIP MY FRIEND. Our lives came together when we were in elementary school and our parents became friends and we bonded thru our dislike of Sunday School. We remained friends because were in the same class and had the same group of friends but I really feel that our best talks began much later in life. The 40 minute conversation in the entrance at D&W or the get togethers with old friends. I will miss those. My thoughts go out to your family and when your name or a memory pops up I will smile

Holly and family, so sorry for your loss! I remember Tom from those days when you lived across the street from us and he would come over and shoot hoops and play some one on one with me when I was a teen. Had a lot of fun and laughs with him.

I first met Tom when I transferred to the Jr. High in 8th grade and he was in my home room class. Remember going to the state park in the summer and seeing him while he was working at the concessions. It was in Jr. High that Tom and Bob Pallas tagged me with my nickname that I am still called from friends from those days. We were always in the same home room classes and in Sr. High we were locker partners. Those years in home room it was 4 or us guy, Dana Pelton, Bob Pallas, Tom and myself, that occupied the 4 desks closest to the door all those years. Now it is just Bob and myself that are remaining. I remember see Tom a few times up at Ferris. He had worked for my soon to be father-in-law and when he owned Haven Floral our wedding arrangements were purchase from him and his wife. Later Tom and I became competitors in business and we would see each other in Saginaw. A few years ago I went on a fishing trip with some high school friends along with Tom. There was a moment that the 2 of us just sat on the back of the boat and had a very good conversation about our past together. Something I will always remember and enjoyed. We did not stay in contact but when I saw someone that did stay in contact with him I always wanted to know how Tom was doing. So for now Trigger, Garp says RIP.
