Dad, Jon, Kris,
Even though I was not at the funeral service, I want you to know that I have been thinking often about you and Uncle Tom. Brooke and I were sharing a few UT stories the other night; going down into the basement at Grams house each Christmas to check the "grape juice", the rusted golf club from a pond at St. Andrews (as we all know, he was known to tell a few whoppers) he gave Brooke for Christmas a few years ago, and the recycled cards that were turning yellow from age I would receive on my birthday.
There are many adjectives that can be used to describe UT, but boring was not one of them. For all of his excentricities, he did many thoughtful things for me. I will always remember the flight in the 2 seat Luscomb, when he let me take the stick for longer than I thought he would, and landing in a field at the end of the flight. Even though I was never in a small plane before, I never worried about safely landing. His skill as a pilot was not something I ever questioned.
He was a memorable figure in my life, and will not be forgotten. I will miss getting those yellow birthday cards from my uncle.##imported-begin##Mike Baker##imported-end##
