Violet Jean Evans' Obituary
Mrs. Violet Jean Evans, age 82, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2009. She was born June 10, 1926 in Flint, MI to Orval and Reo (DuVall) Seelye and had resided in McBain, MI for several years before finally settling down in Muskegon. Mrs. Evans was an LPN for Muskegon General Hospital for 21 years before retiring in 1986. She was a charter member of The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene – Eastwood Campus, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Missionary Society. On January 19, 1946 she married Eugene A. Evans in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1997. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Dennis (Linda) Evans of Muskegon, Jeannie (Jeff) Bowne of Arizona, Patty (Randy) Dick, Lori (Bryan) Carlson both of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Juanita (Ray) VanderVlught of Cadillac, MI, Dorothy (Edward) Nystrom of Okemos, MI, Patsy (C. Richard) Fry of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Douglas (Joyce) Seelye of Falmouth, MI, Calvin (Beverly) Seelye of Cadillac, MI; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday at The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene – Eastwood Campus (2270 S. Mill Iron) with her grandson, Rev. Jamie Evans and Rev. Thomas A. Parks officiating. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at
