We are so very so to learn about Aunt Willene's death. There are so many stories we could share about the many years growing up. I am sure, together, you have had many tears and periods of laughter too, as you reminisced. I know Aunt Willene will be greatly missed by you and so many others because she was so thoughtful and caring. She will always remain alive in our hearts through the memories we share. I pray that your love, strength, and the celebrations you share will bring you comfort.

Willene was my favorite neighbor. We both loved to garden and watch the birds. After my mom died a few years ago, I adopted her as my substitute mother. She listened to my concerns and I listened to hers. I will miss her dearly!

Willene was like a third Grandma to me. I grew up two doors down from her and Gene in Glenside and spent many afternoons in their home and backyard with them, playing with her Mini Disney figurines and other toys, playing with their dog Ginger and even taking trips to Hoffmaster with them. She loved being outdoors in the summer and tending to her huge garden. I played with their grandkids Stephanie and Andrew when we were all little when they'd come to visit. I saw Willene always out and about even after she moved away, nothing kept her down. What a sweet, sweet woman. I will miss seeing her always smiling face.

I work at Deboer Nursing Home, now Lakewoods Nursing Home, in activities, when Gene was a resident. He loved his bingo! Willene would come every day and hardly ever missed a visit! After Gene passed she would come in and help me with activities until she was not able to do so any more. We became close friends. She and Gene where wonderful people and I loved them both. The world was a better place because of them! So sorry for your loss. They are now together again with our Lord!

So sad for your Family. I really enjoyed your Mom when she stopped for sweets at the bakery. Jill and I always got a chuckle out of something funny she would share with us!
