William A. Beckquist's Obituary
Mr. William A. Beckquist, (known by many as “Gagu”), age 89, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 11, 1929 in Muskegon to William and Sarah (Dickson) Beckquist. Bill graduated from Michigan Tech with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering in 1952. He later worked as a General Manager and business leader for a number of Muskegon area companies, such as TGW Ermanco, EPC and Johnson Precision Mold. On October 18, 1952, Bill married the former Judith Holmio and she preceded him in death on October 28, 1998. Bill liked spending as much time outdoors as he could hunting, fishing and especially golfing. He also enjoyed his trips to the family cabin on Pere Marquette River. Bill is survived by his children, Sandy (Steven “Ozzie”) Osborne and Bob (Debbie) Beckquist; grandchildren, Josh (Jason Werneking) Osborne, Jeff (AJ) Osborne, Joe Osborne, Jenni Osborne and Julie Osborne, and Michael Beckquist and Amy (Conor) Reardon; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Boden, with one more on the way; sisters-in-law, Ruth Koski and Salome Holmio and their families. Along with his wife, Bill was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Ann Beckquist, and parents. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, October 24 at 11AM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 49441, 231-798-1100. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, October 23, from 6-8PM. Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be directed to First Congregational Church.
