William Charles Bolthouse's Obituary
Mr. William Charles Bolthouse, age 75, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home. He was born in Grand Haven on August 5, 1945 to Andrew and Bernice (Rutkowski) Bolthouse. William graduated from Michigan State University, class of 1967, and remained a loyal fan. He spent 11 years teaching at Spring Lake High School prior to his career with GTE (Verizon) where he worked as a planning engineer from 1978 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven. William enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Disney World. On August 15, 1970, William married the former Edythe M. Behm and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2014. He is survived by two daughters, Andrea (Tyler) Engbers and Sarah (Joseph) Eadeh; three grandchildren, Greg, Matt, and Katherine; three sisters, Marie (Jerry) Jones, Rosemary Mosley, and Linda Wade; four sisters-in-law, Cleone Bolthouse, Nancy Hall, Mary Behm, and Marge Kane; two brothers-in-law, Carl (Carol) Sorensen and Ron (Dawn) Behm; and his dear friend, Ginger Dykstra. In addition to his wife, Edythe, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Bolthouse; sister-in-law, Ellen Sorensen; and brothers-in-law, Robert Hall, Vern Behm, and Pat Kane. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 28, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service.
